About the book.

Devil’s Passage is Book Three of The Operator Series, bringing Johno and Magomed Khasiev at last to the same city, the same operation and the same reckoning.

Set in Istanbul in the late winter of 2016, the novel unfolds along the cold grey edge of the Bosphorus, through container yards, ferry crossings, narrow stone streets and the shifting fault lines between Europe and Asia. Johno arrives on the trail of a Russian illegal he has been circling for two decades, a ghost first glimpsed in Grozny and never fully left behind.

But this is no clean pursuit. Turkish intelligence, SIS and the SVR are all playing their own game, each with different interests, different loyalties and different versions of the truth. Under a compromised umbrella, with trusted allies close and betrayal closer still, the hunt begins to close in around him.

What follows is a tense, restrained thriller of covert agendas, grief and unfinished business. As the operation fractures, Johno is drawn beyond the mission itself and toward something more personal: a final encounter with the man who has haunted the edges of his life for years.

Spare, atmospheric and emotionally charged, Devil’s Passage is a story of old ghosts, hard choices and the quiet weight of what survives.

Some men spend a lifetime hunting answers. Sometimes they find a man instead.
